Baptism ** We believe Jesus loves it when we respond to his

command to be baptised. For more information please contact the church office or one of the pastors.

** When being baptised it’s great when people tell their

stories. But if “making a speech” scares you, we can always find another way for you to talk about your commitment to the Lord, so don’t be put off.

** Next Baptismal service will be September 14th

An opportunity to serve the Lord Ever thought of getting a new perspective on the congregation at church services? How about becoming an OHP operator! We need some morning and evening. It’s not onerous and won’t be indefinite, if only because the OHP’s will become redundant when the church refurbishment happens. Most importantly, it’s an opportunity to serve the Lord. Contact John Fung. (contact details from church office)

Plant swap Many thanks to all who took part - it was a great morning and we raised £300 for the orphanage and street project in Brazil. There are still plants left so if you’d like one, go to 38A Eastern Avenue’s porch, choose a plant/s and make a donation. Roll on the next one! Ruth Thatcher and Sally Sewell-Alger

Tearfund and Climate Change Please help yourself to Tearfund’s leaflet ‘Act Fast’ on the stand in the church vestibule and see what you can do. One the website (www.tearfund.org/mgi) you’ll find the ‘my global impact’ questionnaire. If you don’t have internet access, the latest Teartimes magazine has further information. Missionary News 3: Update from Brian Newton

If you ask any missionary you will discover that much of what they do is 'routine' or is involved with logistics. That's where we are right now, and we'd appreciate prayer for these ... on one hand (i) working our way through a huge database of contacts inquiring about their interest in our agency and work, and encouraging them in their walk with God. On the other hand (ii) we need to nail down logistics and arrangements for an upcoming Southeast Asia ministry trip in August ... flights, accommodation, networking, and any preaching. We do value your prayer and partnership. Thank you.

Missionary News 4: DON’T COOK LUNCH!

On June 29th after the morning service Hollym Close Housegroup will be raising money to support our member Manna Phuphaisal as she goes off with WEC missionary society this summer. She needs to raise £1,300 for the trip. They will be selling a selection of delicious Chinese dishes. Those of you who remember them doing this last year will know how gooooood it was – so don’t cook lunch, come and enjoy takeaway instead!
